Participants who have an interest in training in the field of agriculture and viticulture will have the chance to intern on Batali Ranch through the D'Vine Path Apprenticeship Program. Please contact us for details.
Participants cultivate all aspects of Bromeliad plants in the nursery: maintenance of the nursery, washing and dusting plants, propagating, potting, and merchandising- getting the plants ready to be sold in local stores. Batali Ranch is built with alternative energy conscious techniques such as solar power, rainwater harvesting and organic farming practices whenever possible.
Participants s learn to care for their own container gardens growing their favorite foods. They research plant types/care online, direct staff will help them go shopping for their seeds or seedlings at local stores, assist in hands-on planting in their planters and create plant markers using their imagination with the help of pinterest.
Participants will learn the basics of landscape design from guest instructors / trained staff and become familiar with a variety of plants through hands-on implementation of a Community Garden, a "Secret Garden" and a "Butterfly Garden".
The grounds keeping crew maintain the grounds and facility by weeding, pruning, sweeping, dusting, general cleaning and raking leaves. All participants will experience vineyard and ranch grounds management.
