LEAFF Program

"Learning Everyday Abilities for the Future."

 

Agriculture, viticulture, hospitality and life skills with meaningful purpose, volunteer and part time employment as the goal.

This program is designed to help moderate functioning adults develop every day living skills, horticulture and viticulture basics, and relationship building. 

We spend each day learning and growing through group exercises (body awareness and physical health), meditation (well-being and presentness), gardening (fine-motor skills and nature awareness), vineyard maintenance, individualized educational skills and every day life skills. 

 

LEAFF Class Schedule:

 

 

The LEAFF Program is currently in session on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

 

 

Tuesdays and Wednesdays:

 

9:00 a.m.:       

Participants punch-in and relinquish electronic devices in the box, warm up exercises, vineyard walk, meditation

(Self- advocacy, independent living skills, physical and mental wellbeing)

 

10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. :   

Vineyard maintenance and vegetable gardening

(Task-management, horticulture and viticulture practice, teamwork)

11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. :    

Functional academic skills

(penmanship, spelling, telling time, basic math, reading, name & address)

12:30 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. :

Lunch

(socialization, social etiquette, relationship building)

 

1:15 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. :

Topic of the week (regarding horticulture OR a focus life-skill such as counting money, laundry, etc.)

(general knowledge, independence, memory, team work, self-advocacy)

 

2:00 p.m.:      

Clean Up 

(self-advocacy, independence, responsibility, accountability)

 

 

 

 

Thursdays:

 

9:00 a.m.:

Leave campus for community field trip 

(Select students will practice their Job Development skills by working for one hour at a paid job within the community)

12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. :

Lunch
