What funding options are available
Funding options may include:
-
San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) funding through your service coordinator.
-
California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) funding through your DOR counselor.
-
Private Pay.
How do I know which funding path is right for us
It depends on the participant’s eligibility and goals.
-
Regional Center funding is often tied to Individual Program Plan goals and authorized services.
-
DOR funding is typically tied to employment goals and vocational outcomes.
-
Private Pay is an option for individuals who are not currently eligible for public funding or who prefer to pay directly.
What is required to use San Diego Regional Center funding
If the participant is an SDRC consumer:
-
Contact your service coordinator to discuss D’Vine Path and request authorization.
-
Complete the D’Vine Path application and participate in the tour and intake process.
-
Enrollment is based on program fit, availability, and approvals required by SDRC.
SDRC services page: http://www.sdrc.org/services
What is required to use Department of Rehabilitation funding
If the participant is a DOR client:
-
Contact your DOR counselor to discuss goals and funding authorization.
-
Complete the D’Vine Path application and participate in the tour and intake process.
-
Services must align with the participant’s vocational plan and approved outcomes.
DOR getting started page: https://www.dor.ca.gov/Home/GettingStarted
Can we start privately and switch to SDRC or DOR later
Often, yes. Many families start with Private Pay while working through eligibility or authorization steps. Coverage and timing depend on the funding agency and the participant’s plan.
Does D’Vine Path help with the funding process
We can provide information about our programs, help you understand next steps, and share any documentation your coordinator or counselor may request. Final funding decisions and authorizations are made by the funding agency.
What costs are covered by SDRC or DOR
Coverage varies by plan and authorization. Approved services may cover program participation. Transportation and additional supports may be separate and depend on the individual plan.
Do you accept Self Determination Program funding
If the participant uses Self Determination, funding and payment are typically coordinated through the participant’s SDP team and financial management services. Availability depends on the participant’s plan and approved services.
Can we use more than one funding source
Sometimes. For example, one funding source may cover a portion of services while another covers different supports. This depends on eligibility, authorizations, and each agency’s rules.
What if we are not eligible for SDRC or DOR
Private Pay may be available. We can also share community resources to help you explore other local supports.
How long does it take to get funding approved
Timelines vary by agency and by individual case. The fastest way to start is to schedule a tour, complete the D’Vine Path application, and contact your coordinator or counselor early.
Are weekly workshops covered by funding
Workshops may have separate enrollment and pricing from day program services. If you are seeking funding coverage, check with your service coordinator or counselor first.
